Whew! Can you believe roaring March is here already? I keep telling people we just moved to Salem, but in reality that was four months ago. I swear, Oregon is in a strange vortex where time moves quicker than anywhere else we've lived. I glance at my phone thinking it's noon and I see three o'clock. Strange, and yet intriguing.
Well, I finally ventured out into the literary world again. Okay, I was strolling downtown with Ronnie and spotted a bookstore, The Book Bin. Walking into the familiar scent of ink and paper, I couldn't help but smile. It had been a while, and I needed the armoma of hundreds of books to feed my hungry soul. I approached the front desk and met Hailey, the assistant manager. She was kind, patient, and engaging. We discussed their vetting process to schedule author events, possibly have books in the store, and she also gave me other book store recommendations to visit. It was such a positive experience.
After my visit, Ronnie and I resumed our stroll and we came across the cutest coffee shop, The Governor's Cup. It was bustling so I didn't approach them yet, but I did size up the room for yes, you guessed it, a Coffee House Tours signing. I said I'd work on opening a chapter here in Salem and I finally found a starting point. All in all it was a lovely day that ended at this cute, tucked away Italian bakery, The Little Cannoli. Of course we had to get a box of pastryies and cookies to go. They were sooo good!
It felt good to connect with the bookstore, survey the coffeeshop, and even better to find the bakery. LOL Life is beginning to take shape. I resumed writing my latest manuscript and it makes me feel like me.
That's it for now, have a beautiful March everyone!
